Padma Nepal: Godmothers and godfathers – distant sponsorships in Nepal
Day after day, while working in Nepal, Kam For Sud’s collaborators meet children that are not attending school because of extreme poverty and difficult family situations, thus often becoming easy victims of abuse and exploitation. Life stories full of misery and suffering, where the younger ones often pay the highest price. Deprived of the possibility to attend school, sometimes even deprived of the childhood itself, if left on their own, these children will hardly have the chance to create a better future for themselves.
Kam For Sud proposes a distant sponsorship program that allows children in difficult conditions to go to school and get an opportunity in their life. Each individual case is deeply assessed by the Kam For Sud staff. Depending on the situation, the children are enrolled in the village school, a private school or a boarding school. In any case, in priority the children stay in their families or at least in their villages.
Since the beginning of this project, over four hundred children have so far been able to benefit of a distance sponsorship to study. We observe with satisfaction that in general the kids are very motivated and happy to be able to go to school. They study with commitment and many of them achieve good results.
A sponsorship allows to offer a better future to children living in extreme poverty
