Micro-hydropower
Three micro-hydropower stations, installed in three streams of the Saipu’s wide slope, brought electric light for the first time to the houses of the village, divided into three separate sectors.
Each house was given the opportunity to plug in four light bulbs; the community also decided to utilize unused electricity during the day to run some computers at school.
The micro-hydropower plants were co-funded by Kam For Sud (25%), along with the Nepalese government (50%), the district authority (10%) and the villagers themselves (15%).
