Traditional Fabrics Dhaka

Started thanks to a local initiative, the project supported the training and craft work of a group of Saipu women producing traditional cotton textiles, called “Dhaka” in Nepali. Fifteen women underwent training and became independent in the production of these textiles, generating an economic benefit for the livelihood of their respective families.
Kam For Sud initially supported the group in finding outlets through the “World Shops” network in Ticino and at the Kam For Sud bazaar in Locarno. Later, as a local supply chain developed, the group became independent.
